Add Footer Links
Guide users to docs, support, and release notes around your portal, even though Boarbs does not currently provide a dedicated footer-links editor.
Boarbs does not currently include a dedicated footer-links editor for the hosted portal.
That means the useful question today is not “Where do I paste footer links?” but “Where should users go before and after they interact with feedback?”
The Links People Usually Need
Most teams want to point visitors to a small set of supporting destinations:
- help center or docs
- support or contact page
- release notes or changelog
- main marketing site
- public roadmap
You usually do not need all of them inside Boarbs itself.
What Boarbs Already Gives You
Out of the box, Boarbs already provides a few important destinations:
- your portal home on the workspace subdomain
- your public roadmap
- individual public post pages
Those are usually the most important links for the feedback workflow itself.
Practical Setup Today
The cleanest current setup is:
- keep the Boarbs portal focused on feedback and roadmap content
- put docs, support, and pricing links on your main site or app navigation
- deep-link people directly to the right Boarbs post or roadmap when context matters
- if you embed Boarbs, surround the iframe with your own product navigation
This keeps the feedback experience simple without losing important wayfinding.
When to Link to the Roadmap
Link to the roadmap when you want people to:
- see what is already planned
- understand overall direction
- avoid submitting duplicate requests that are already underway
When to Link to a Specific Post
Link to a post page when:
- support is following up on one request
- you want users to vote on an existing idea
- you are publishing a specific status update
- you want people to subscribe to one request instead of scanning the whole portal
A Good Rule of Thumb
Use the portal for:
- submitting ideas
- voting
- commenting
- following the roadmap
Use your main site or app for:
- generic navigation
- broader product education
- billing or account pages
- long-form release notes
What Not to Do
- do not overload the public experience with too many destinations
- do not send people to a generic homepage when a post or roadmap link would be clearer
- do not treat the portal like a full marketing site
