Emails and notifications that follow the feedback, not a generic inbox
Boarbs splits notifications on purpose. Organization members get an in-app inbox for new posts, public comments, status changes, and assignments. People following a post get email. The two paths do not dump everything on everyone.
Free forever for small teams · No credit card · Unlimited voters
Either nobody hears the update, or everyone is spammed
A single email blast on every comment trains people to mute you. A tool with no mail means voters never learn you shipped. You need a member inbox and a subscriber list — not one firehose.
One list for staff and customers
PMs do not need the same email as a voter. Staff should live in an inbox inside the app. Subscribers should get mail about their post.
Subjects that still say {postTitle}
Broken interpolation looks like a staging bug. Closed and updated posts should show the real title in the subject.
You email the person who just clicked
The teammate who merged two posts does not need a “you merged this” email. Subscribers do.
Inbox for members. Email for subscribers. Templates that resolve.
Every member has an inbox. New notifications stay unread until opened or marked read. Subscriber emails go only to people following that post. Subjects use the same template values as the body.
In-app inbox for the team
New posts, public comments, status changes, and assignments. Workspace-wide, per member. Mark all as read when you are caught up.
Post-based email for followers
Creators and subscribers hear about the posts they care about — including a short merge email with a link to the surviving post.
Real titles in the subject line
Outbound subjects interpolate the same values as the body. A closed or updated post shows the title, not a leftover placeholder.
Branded footer, removable on Pro
Auth and product emails can include a Boarbs footer that links to boarbs.com. Remove Boarbs branding hides it. Workspace name, logo, color, and email theme stay.
Quiet where it should be quiet
The person who merged is not emailed. Unmerge stays silent. Members use the inbox instead of a copy of every event.
Not a placeholder. A real Boarbs surface.
Members live in the inbox. Voters get mail about the posts they follow.
Related product pages, docs, and comparisons
Each landing is one intent. These links go to the matching feature, the setup article, or a competitor comparison when that search is nearby.
