Merge duplicate feedback without losing votes or comments
Duplicate requests split the signal. Ten posts with three votes each look smaller than one post with thirty. Boarbs helps writers find similar posts, then lets admins merge reviewed duplicates into one primary post.

Duplicates make the board look quieter than it is
Users search badly. They write the same idea in new words. If you cannot merge, your ranked list lies — and you ship the wrong thing because the votes never sat together.
Votes are stranded on clones
Three posts about the same integration look like low demand. Combined, they are your next sprint. Without merge, the math is wrong.
Auto-merge is how you lose trust
Silently combining posts that are only similar — not the same — hides a real request. Boarbs never merges because a writer clicked a suggestion.
Comments and tags disappear in a sloppy merge
If merge drops conversation or labels, you lose the nuance that told you why people asked. The primary post should keep the history.
Suggest while writing. Merge when an admin reviews.
Portal, widget, embed, and the organization app show similar posts from the same organization while someone writes. They can upvote a suggestion or still create a new post. Admins merge from post detail or bulk actions.
Similar posts while writing
Suggestions appear as the title and body take shape. Choosing a suggestion never merges. It is a chance to upvote or comment instead of cloning.
Admins merge on purpose
Organization admins open a post and choose Merge, or use bulk actions. You pick the primary. Duplicates combine into that post.
Votes, comments, and tags stay
The primary post keeps the signal. You are consolidating demand, not deleting history.
Creators and subscribers get one email
After a merge, creators and subscribers of both posts get a short email with a link to the surviving post. The person who merged is not emailed. Unmerge stays silent.
No automatic merge
Similarity is a hint, not a verdict. That is the difference between a tidy board and a board people stop trusting.
Not a placeholder. A real Boarbs surface.
A ranked board only works if duplicate demand sits on one post — suggestions first, admin merge second.
